HISTORY of KUMDOMany people regard Kumdo as Japanese.
In my opinion, 99% of Koreans think so.
Historically speaking, however, sword arts were introduced to Japan by Koreans.
The sword arts were original combat form, then developed into sports in Japan.
So modern competition rules & regulations are in accordance with Japanese ways.
In Korea, we develop our own methods of using the sword based on our traditions.
Kumdo pants are called Hakama, which originate from Korean pants-Hapbazi.
I am sure that Kumdo originates from Korea but was developed by Japanese artists.
剣道(クムド)の歴史多くの人は剣道を日本のものだと見なしています。
私の考えでは、99%の韓国人がそう考えているでしょう。
しかし歴史的には、剣術は韓国人によって日本に紹介されました。
剣術は韓国固有の戦闘法でした。そしてそれが日本でスポーツとして発展したのです。
ですので、現在の競技ルールや規則は日本の方法に従っています。
韓国では、韓国の伝統に基づいた独自の剣術を発展させてきました。
剣道で使用されるズボンは袴と言い、韓国の"Hapbazi"が起源です。
私は、剣道は韓国が起源であり、日本の武道家によって発展したものであると信じています。
